The mission of the American Business Women’s Association is to bring together business women of diverse occupations and to provide opportunities for them to help themselves and others grow personally and professionally through leadership, education, networking support and national recognition.

We encourage membership after visiting twice.

Get Involved!
Getting involved and developing relationships with the members of ABWA will make your experience that much richer!
We offer 1-2 social events each month as a way to connect and build relationships. You can often find us enjoying morning coffee or breakfast and occasionally adding in other fun events.
Additionally, you’ll have opportunities to participate in community outreach events throughout the year. Our chapter loves to find ways to give back to the community we live in!
We highly encourage getting involved by serving on a committee. If you’re interested in serving, reach out!

Membership for ABWA happens at the local level
(West Des Moines Charter Chapter) and National level.
Local Dues
$85 annually | waived for students
Due 8/1 every year.
Local dues will be prorated for the month you join.
National Dues
$115 annually | $50 for students
National dues renew a year from your join date.

Leadership Conferences
ABWA National hosts two leadership conferences for members each year.
Regional Women’s Leadership Conference is hosted online in the Spring.
National Women’s Leadership Conference is hosted in person in the fall. The 2024 National Conference will be in Overland Park, KS September 25-28. More information and registration available here!
